The Mcleodganj Triund Trek is a short and easy trek into the Himalayas, making it an ideal weekend trip for beginners. Triund sits at an altitude of 2,880 m and offers fascinating views of the Dhauladhar Range on one side and the Kangra Valley on the other.
The trail passes through Bhagsu Waterfall, small gushing streams, and dense forests of pine, oak, and deodar.

The route starting from Bhagsunag temple is shorter but steeper at places, making it the go-to for most trekkers.
The route starting from Guna Devi temple is longer but has gentler slopes. To take this route, you need to hire a vehicle to reach the temple, roughly 2–3 km away — otherwise the total distance extends to 12+ km.

The nearest airport is Gaggal (Kangra Airport), 15 km from Dharamshala. Taxis from the airport to Mcleodganj cost ₹800–₹1,200.
It is possible to complete the trek in a single day, but the best part is to enjoy the sunset, stay overnight in a camp or rest house, and catch the sunrise the next morning. Spending at least two days is recommended.
