Sangla Chitkul Kalpa Trip
Kinnaur Valley's crown jewels — India's last village Chitkul at 3,450m, apple orchards of Sangla, ancient Kalpa village…
The Alang Madan Kulang Trek, popularly known as the AMK Trek, is one of the most challenging and thrilling trekking experiences in the Sahyadri mountain range of Maharashtra. Located in the Kalsubai Range, this trek combines technical rock patches, ancient forts, breathtaking valleys, caves, and panoramic mountain views, making it a dream adventure for experienced trekkers.
Unlike regular weekend treks, the Alang Madan Kulang Trek demands endurance, courage, and teamwork. From rappelling down steep rock faces to climbing carved rock steps and spending the night inside historic caves, every moment of this expedition promises an unforgettable adventure.
Whether you’re an experienced trekker or looking to push your limits, the AMK Trek offers one of the most rewarding trekking experiences in India.
The Alang Madan Kulang Trek is considered the pinnacle of trekking in Maharashtra due to its technical challenges and incredible scenery.
The AMK Trek covers three majestic forts built during the medieval period and later used strategically by the Marathas.
Known for its massive plateau, caves, and breathtaking cliff edges, Alang is the highest fort among the three and offers spectacular camping opportunities.
Madan is famous for its narrow rock-cut staircase, exposed traverses, and technical climbing sections. It is considered the most challenging part of the trek.
Kulang features one of the longest ascents through dense forests and offers incredible panoramic views of the Sahyadri mountain range.
Together, these forts create one of the most iconic trekking circuits in Maharashtra.
The AMK Trek is not recommended for beginners.
